My name is Staci Thompson and I am currently a junior at Southern Utah University studying to become a registered nurse.  My ultimate goal is to specialize in pediatrics and go back to school to become a nurse practitioner.

Although I love the outdoors and being in Cedar City, I hope to move back to Las Vegas after I graduate to be with my family.  My hobbies include softball, hiking, and most recently yoga.  I am a huge animal lover and love to do community service.  Currently, most of my service revolves around volunteering and mentoring the pediatric population.  I couldn't be happier!

This past summer I spent a week volunteering at a nationally recognized camp known as Camp Kesem.  Camp Kesem is an opportunity for the children of parents with cancer to spend a week away from home in order to escape their current situation.  This website is dedicated to explaining my project and presenting deliverables from the experience.

Biology Writing Fellow
2015 - present

I work for my biology professor as a writing fellow through the writing center at Southern Utah University.  I assist students in editing their research lab reports both inside and out of the classroom by reading over their work, giving them suggestions, and assisting in answering questions they have about the assignment.

I worked as a camp counselor at Lifetime Athletic Club.  Each day I was in charge of leading a group of ten girls aged 5-7 through various camp activities.  I was awarded Counselor of the Week during my third week on the job.
